I don’t know about you, but Venus conjunct Chiron in Aries, while the Moon conjunct Mars in Leo at the beginning of June, really hit hard; that fire ( Aries, Mars, Leo) burned hot. I am still recovering as I write this, and I am unsure when this deep, penetrating sizzle to my ways of relating will simmer down a bit. The inflammation is potent, and I feel like my brain is afire. The nervous system has some alarm bells ringing, and as someone who processes my inner journey on a visceral level, I am getting the message…slow down, observe, learn, and embrace change as my new bestie.
Navigating a healing crisis, which I prefer to call healing chrysalis, is always a powerful time of deep reflection, contemplation, and re-evaluation. It feels like an investigation of time, one in which the dis-ease presents in a variety of ways to discover the origin of the imbalance. Sometimes the healing is like the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. A jumping-type of rapid scurry that guides me from one realm to another, following some sort of existential breadcrumbs to an eventual treasure of illumination. At other times, it feels like a very dense blob that is piercing every cell of my body, suffocating my old self with a density that overrides my patterns and forces me to slow to a pause and listen more deeply than I’ve ever been able to before.
On this Full Moon in Sagittarius, I find myself somewhere in the middle of the two rhythms described above, both observing and experiencing a whirlwind of energy that feels incredibly unsettling as well as a gravitational pull inward and earthbound. Mars is hyperactive, trining the full moon while also squaring Uranus, bringing combustive energy to the table in full regalia. The Uranus/Mars combination is a volatile mark of unpredictable change, and considering the seeds of the Venus/Chiron conjunction planted in the freshly fertilized waxing moon cycle just 11 days ago, these changes feel painful.
America in Real Time
I was made in America. Where were you made?
There is so much noise in this country that it’s rattling at the seams. The US is bursting from all previous notions of what this country has declared/demanded as the world leader into something else entirely. Pawn? Puppet? Pope? What will the new form eventually become? While the rest of the world braces itself for the very Uranian/Mars-like volatile and unpredictable antics spewing from the White House, those of us made in America are living them in real time.
When I say America, I do not mean the United States. I was born in Memphis, Tennessee; however, I have not lost my perspective on “America”, and its directional definitions, North America (inclusive of Canada, US, and Mexico), Central, and South America. We are all America. And we are at war with each other. Our borders are remnants of previous wars, killing, raping, pillaging, and conquests from ancestors of many who continue to live the struggles of identity, borders, power, and ownership of today. I don’t know anyone who is not impacted by what is unfolding, as our entire societal structure is based upon the labor dynamics built upon those who have less and need more, serving those who have too much and need less.
Sagittarius Full Moon
This is an expansive full moon. Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, is amping up to a square with Saturn on the 15th and a square to Neptune on the 18th. Think of this as a preview to coming attractions, or perhaps a moment to cope ahead and feel into the layers of disappointment and loss that are presenting in this time. The chess pieces are moving on a global scale. The world as we have known it is shifting into new power dynamics that may feel uncomfortable to those who have been comfortable for as long as they didn’t even realize it. For others, who have never known comfort, there could be a balancing or neutralizing force that somehow washes through like a wave machine, taking from some, giving to others.
With so much unknown, it is hard to see how the chaos of the next couple of years will play out. What is important is how you are going to show up amidst the changes occurring, both the fast-paced, on-your-toes shifts and the more deeply felt changes within the density of the collective and your individual psyche. Inner work is a sanctuary when the outer world is not. Jupiter is also a boon of optimism, and this moon reminds us that no matter how dark the night, the Sun shall rise upon a new day.
All my best to you, and please receive the piece of my heart that lives inside these words,

We cannot change the world until we accept we are the world. This is the new conversation.
