This New Moon is gorgeous. Blessed by Jupiter caressing the Sun and Moon, instilling a much-needed positive light in a time that looks bleak, scary, and entirely off the rails to many. But hey…this is not just any moment, this is the moment. And inside this very moment, everything else exists too. If I were reading your natal chart, I would reflect the mirror of your psyche to you, offering you a newfound perspective that encapsulates an articulation of the past, present, and future in this moment now.
Back to Jupiter, the great benefic, amplifier, and bestower of radiance, is exalted in Cancer, where it will grace you wherever Cancer lives in your chart for the entirety of this year through June 2026. I need this, you need this, we need this. The universe is always balancing and rectifying itself, and when times are revving as intensely as they are, remember that the light shines brighter. It is up to you to bring your attention to the brilliance and keep the gaze of your heart attuned to that which is resonant with your highest Being, regardless of the external distractions and challenges. This isn’t always easy, and is sometimes quite tricky to do. However, you never received a promise that your life would be easy. The true promise is the invitation to grow, learn, and become who you truly are.
Leaning Into Challenge
To progress in my life, I’ve always needed something to push up against, feel myself, receive feedback, and then lean deeper into the challenge. I am currently learning how to do this with a bit more finesse. And I am no overnight success. I am the kind of fighter who has had to learn through extensive battles in my mind, the astral planes, and this earthly realm. Something I am observing in the process of transiting Pluto opposing my Mars is an opportunity to mature my masculine in a way that I can accept this essential part of me, rather than fear or deny it any longer.
From November of last year until the end of April, each of us experienced transiting Pluto opposing transiting Mars in a series of 3 exact oppositions: November 3rd, 2024, January 3rd, and April 26th, 2025. If you track back to that 6-month period, you will also traverse Mars in Leo, retrograde into Cancer, and back into Leo. What did you learn in those exhausting months of inner and outer conflict? Did you find some resolve within? I wrote extensively on that transit because the implications of Mars and Pluto aspecting in dynamic opposition reflect a battle of the wills, but both are yours. It is a potent time to take responsibility for yourself and to own your projections. Through ownership, you can make new choices for yourself and thus create a new future based upon new actions, infusing a new way of Being.
Navigating Opposition in the Sky
I’ve been navigating this opposition in my current transits with Pluto transiting through Aquarius, opposing my natal Mars in Leo at 3 degrees. So what the world endured during those 6 months is stretched for me into 3 years. My intention in sharing my journey with astrology is to share examples of how the stars materialize their message through our psyche, giving the gift of potential. I would talk about your astrology too, but I can only speak from my experience unless I am reflecting you to you in an astrology reading, so thank you for receiving my life as an example through my words in this journal. I hope that it can add value to yours, and that in my sharing, you may see yourself in the reflection that I am for you, and vice versa. Anyhow…
As I am halfway through this arduous punching bag transit, I am starting to feel the strength coming back into my body in a very new and real way. My blood is pumping, my muscles are smooth, and my bones feel more dense. My Mars is changing, developing, and maturing in ways that it could only be in the reflection of its older brother, Pluto. Pluto is leading the charge and transforming immature, avoidant facets of myself into a much better disciple of change. My vision is clarifying as I receive the opportunities in front of me, including studying with masculine elders who walk their talk, and have lived powerful, provocative lives. Those who metamorphose themselves, and thus are leading missions to help others, simply by being their unparalleled self.
Life is a long road if we are lucky, and I am enthusiastic about the miles to come. May we all learn, grow, and develop the scrappy parts of ourselves into a more refined way of Being that enhances not only our blessed life but also the lives of everyone else. This isn’t just about you, it is about all of you, and how every part of you reflects every part of me, too. What is the answer to this question when you repeat it to yourself, “Who am I?” Or perhaps, “Why am I...? The first question belongs in your first house of the individual, the second on the crest of your midheaven, or your purpose. Your “why” expresses from your crown, and then adding, your “how” from your root or foundation and so on…
Embracing Change
You see, your life is an embodiment of you, your attention, your focus, your attitude, behaviours, emotions, thoughts, etc, etc. And all of this is reflected in the mirror of your unique star map. The good news? Well, there is so much good news, but perhaps the most exciting is that the one thing consistent about you, throughout your first breath until your last and beyond, is that you are change. Change will always be with you; change will always guide you. Embrace change, and you will embrace life.
Today and for this entire moon cycle, I encourage you to tap into your roots, to feel the nourishment and resource within you. Pull from the depths of you to bring forth something astonishingly beautiful. You. Are. This is a great time to share yourself and express what lives in your heart. I am thankful to be doing this within the form of a podcast series on Change. As an astrologer and inner explorer, I find this moment particularly inspiring as a time to explore change as a way of life. The interviews within this series are with people I deeply admire and respect, people I am honored to share with you, my community, amidst the current astrology that is calling, or perhaps even demanding our attention to one focus, and that focal point is change itself.
Happiest New Moon to you.
